Focus Fire and Resilience

Focus fire and resilience mechanics help explain why blindly throwing the whole zerg into one protected target can be low value.

The lesson is not "never focus a target." The lesson is: focus the target that can actually die or create the next useful fight window.

Field behavior

  • Pressure front targets with Q/W, but do not waste the whole engage on an isolated protected tank unless there is a reason.
  • Look for clumps, low targets, exposed healers, enemy DPS channels, and valuable support cooldowns.
  • Scoreboard damage is not the same as fight impact.
  • Utility, pierce, heal cut, and terrain can make a target worth focusing when raw damage alone would not.

Practical rule

Ask what the focus creates: a kill, a cooldown trade, a forced retreat, a terrain win, or only wasted damage.
