Healers Heal the Danger Area

Situation

A choke, door, frontline, or caught group is about to take damage.

Healers can be alive and still fail the fight if they are not in range of the danger area.

Correct response

Healers should identify where damage is actually landing and where the zerg needs to remain functional.

The healing target is often:

  • the door/choke being crossed
  • the tank line holding the enemy
  • the last players through danger
  • the group inside a defensive layer
  • the players enabling the caller's movement call

Common failure

Healers stand safely far away and heal the backline while the players making the call possible die unsupported.

Holy and Nature together

Holy stabilizes sharp damage. Nature supports sustained space, zones, routes, and recovery. A strong healer package uses both forms of value.

Review questions

  1. Where was the danger area?
  2. Could Holy reach it?
  3. Did Nature support useful space?
  4. Did defensive support and healing overlap?
  5. Did players stand in the healing area when they should?

Drill

Pause one second before enemy damage lands. Ask:

Can the healer package reach the group that is about to matter?
