Disengage / Stopper Tool Notes¶
Disengage and stopper tools protect the zerg by breaking enemy timing.
What stopper tools should create¶
- delay before enemy damage lands
- interruption of channels or engage paths
- separation between enemy front and enemy damage
- protection for friendly DPS, healers, and supports
- safer crossings through chokes, doors, and terrain
Timing rule¶
Stopping after damage lands is often too late. Stopper players should read the enemy path and act before the enemy reaches the danger area.
Positioning rule¶
A stopper should usually stand between the enemy's real engage path and the friendly group that needs protection.
This does not always mean the closest side. It means the side where enemy DPS, tanks, or bomb squads can realistically enter.
Common mistakes¶
- standing inside friendly clumps
- chasing one caught player instead of blocking follow-up
- reacting to fake pressure while the real threat comes from a side angle
- holding cooldowns until after the zerg is already hit
- playing so far forward that allied DPS cannot punish pressure on you
Review questions¶
- Did the stopper read the enemy path early?
- Did the cooldown hit real danger?
- Did the play protect friendly damage/healing space?
- Did the stopper stay close enough to be supported?
