Build Evaluation Framework¶
Use this page to judge whether a build fits a ZvZ job. It is not a meta list.
Core question¶
Do not ask only:
Is this build on a list?
Ask:
What goal does this build accomplish, and do the weapon, armor, helmet, boots, cape, food, and potion work together to accomplish it?
Three-part test¶
| Test | Question | Failure pattern |
|---|---|---|
| Goal | What job am I trying to perform? | wearing a set because it is approved, not because it has a purpose |
| Priority | What matters most for that role? | overvaluing damage, cooldown, or survival while ignoring role requirements |
| Synergy | Do the pieces work together? | weapon, armor, food, and defensives all solve unrelated problems |
Role requirements¶
| Role family | Non-negotiable requirement |
|---|---|
| Tank | survive enough to take, stop, or hold pressure |
| DPS | deliver useful damage, pressure, or conversion |
| Healer | heal the danger area, not just safe party frames |
| Support | answer the zerg's real tactical problem |
| Caller | see, move, survive, and communicate the fight |
Trade-offs¶
A build cannot do everything. Good builds choose trade-offs consciously:
- more damage vs more consistency
- more survivability vs more output
- more mobility vs more cooldown
- more personal safety vs more group utility
- more burst vs more pressure uptime
Testing method¶
Before demanding that a group use a new build:
- define the role goal
- check priorities and synergy
- test under pressure
- review whether the build still functions when interrupted, displaced, or forced to move
- keep the useful pieces even if the whole build fails
