Support DPS Tool Notes

Support DPS tools enable damage to convert. Their value is not only their own damage number.

What support DPS should create

  • pierce before damage
  • anti-heal during the kill window
  • purge before enemy defensives stabilize
  • stuns or slows that keep targets in damage
  • disruption that makes enemy healing late
  • enough pressure to justify a DPS slot

Timing sequence

The clean order is:

clump / lock → support DPS utility → main damage → enemy recovery fails

If support utility lands after main damage, the window may already be gone.

Smaller button rule

If a large E will be late, a smaller on-time utility button may create more value. The role exists to make the window work, not to force a perfect-looking combo after the moment has passed.

Review questions

  • Did utility land before or with damage?
  • Did it hit the actual kill target?
  • Did it weaken healing, armor, movement, or defenses?
  • Did the player chase damage meters instead of utility timing?
