Review 10–15 Seconds Before Death

Core rule

The death frame is often the result, not the mistake.

Review the setup before the death.

Why this matters

Players often say:

"I died because their bomb hit me."

That may be true, but incomplete. The useful review is often:

  • Why was I in that clump?
  • Why was I on that wall?
  • Why was I out of heal range?
  • Why did I walk away from support?
  • Why did I not use mobility earlier?
  • Why was no tank covering that path?
  • Why was I late to the call?

Review method

For each important death, pause at:

  1. 15 seconds before death
  2. 10 seconds before death
  3. 5 seconds before death
  4. impact
  5. 3 seconds after impact

Ask what changed at each point.

What to look for

  • wrong side of terrain
  • slow mount-up or dismount
  • following literal call instead of intent
  • clumping with safe players
  • leaving the active fight
  • support tool placed too late or wrong lane
  • healer out of danger range
  • tank failing to stop enemy path
  • DPS starting damage at zero instead of landing at zero

Training prompt

Write one sentence:

My death started when I ____.

If the sentence begins with "when their damage landed," go earlier.
